The National
UK Online Centres Award winner 2008
So far
this year Yarn Barton award winning tutors have visited several villages
with the above outreach project – Halstock, Mosterton, Broadwindsor
and Toller, with classes taking place in village halls, pubs and clubs.
Due to the popularity of these taster sessions, UK Online will
be funding us to enable the project to continue.
Would you like us to visit your village or Club?
Classes will continue with four weekly sessions to learn the basics
of using a mouse, the keyboard and some word processing, along with
the opportunity to have a look at the internet and emailing. At the
end of this first four 2-hr sessions, transport will be available for
you to continue your training at the Yarn Barton Centre for a further
four weeks, with full access to the internet. You will set up your own
email address; we will help you to explore various web sites such as
West Dorset District Council, Dorset County Council, the Dorset County
Hospital, National Health Direct and in addition any sites of particular
interest to you.
Because of the funding raised for this project, the cost for the course
will be just £3.00 per week, which will cover all costs and will
include refreshments too.
Look out for further information in other local publications and posters
that will be distributed throughout the community. In the meantime if
you would like more information, or for your village to be included,
give us a call at the Yarn Barton Centre on 01308 863047. Come and join
us and stay In Touch with your family, friends and your future
